E-Learning Course- Cultivating Good Water

For World Water Day 2018, FAO invites persons to register for the "Cultivating Good Water Program: methodologies for the integral and sustainable production of goods and services for the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean". 

The E-learning course if being offered by FAO and ITAIPU Binacional and has already trained more than 650 participants in Spanish. Now available in English, the course should expand its reach to professionals and stakeholders especially from countries of Central America and the Caribbean.

The course is based on the experiences and lessons learned from the "Cultivating Good Water Program" being done by ITAIPU in Brazil with replication in others countries, like Paraguay and Guatemala. The course is aimed at those interested in implementing programs and actions of sustainable management of natural resources and sustainable production in forestry, aquaculture and fishing systems of family farming, and includes aspects such as the regional view of family farming, technologies and good practices of sustainable management of natural resources applicable to the sector.

The course is a free of charge and offered in the self-learning mode, structured into five technical-pedagogical units for their exploration in sequence. Once a unit has been fully reviewed, the following one can be accessed. The review of the contents of this course requires a dedication of approximately 40 hours, which can vary depending on the references to be reviewed. The recommendation is to hold one-hour sessions per day. At the end of the process, students can download an approval certificate from the course itself.

The course runs from March 22, 2018 to March 22, 2019
