Calling all students in the Bahamas, participate in a poster, dance or poetry competition for a chance to win prizes! More... 

Under the World Food Day theme: Our actions are our future: Better production, better nutrition, a better environment, and a better life, the Bahamas Ministry of Agriculture and Marine Resources in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations invites you to join in a the World Food Day National School Compeitions.

There are several competitions to choose from: 

  1. NATIONAL SCHOOL POSTER COMPETITION

Create a poster of a food journey for a chance to win prizes and be entered into the FAO Global Poster competition- http://www.fao.org/world-food-day/youth/contest/en/  

Eligibility: Grades 1-3, 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12. Only 2 entries per grade per school.

 

       2. POEM / LETTER (Choose one)

Submit one of the following literary pieces:

  1. A Poem on “If I were a farmer” OR “If I were a fisher”.
  2. A one-page letter to the Minister of Agriculture and Marine Resources on the World Food Day theme above.

Eligibility: Grades 1-3, 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12. Only 2 entries per grade per school.

 

       3. DANCE - TIK TOK/ INSTAGRAM or DIY Video 

  • Enter the FAO World Food Day Dance challenge using the hashtags #FOODHEROESDANCE #BAHAMAS. Tag @FAO on Tik Tok and Instagram.
  • Submit a DIY video of agricultural practices being learnt; eating healthy in school or taking care of the environment
