FAO in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries (MAF), the National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI) and the Supreme Council for Planning (SCP) of Oman are co-organizing a national workshop in Muscat from 1 to 5 December 2019, to increase awareness among all national stakeholders on mainstreaming food and agriculture in the SDGs.

The workshop also aims at building capacities of national statisticians and other related technical staff on a number of selected SDG goals and indicators that are most relevant to Oman and are under the FAO custodianship.

FAO is organizing a training workshop on WaPOR from 1 to 3 December 2019 in Tunis, Tunisia. This workshop will gather water and agricultural experts from the Near East and North African region who will learn how to use WaPOR to assess water productivity.

This workshop is a pre-event of the First Regional Conference on "Improving water productivity in agriculture" in the Near East and North Africa that will be held from 4 to 6 December in Tunis.

On 14 November 2019, the Inception Workshop to officially launch the “Knowat - Knowing water better” project in Senegal was held in Dakar. The workshop gathered representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture, the civil society, financial institutions, universities and research institutes and from the private sector.

The “Knowat” project aims at strengthening water governance processes in Sri Lanka, Senegal and Rwanda. For more information on the project, visit the project page.
