IV Diálogos del Agua América Latina - Fourth Water Dialogues Latin America

From 23/10/2018 To 23/10/2018
Location: Madrid, Spain

FAO is participating in the fourth Water Dialogues focused on "Innovation for efficient water management" which takes place in Madrid, Spain on 23 October 2018. This event gathers representatives of water governing institutions, experts from international organizations, academic centres and the private sector to discuss the role of innovation in the urban water cycle and the agricultural sector.

The Water Dialogues are thematic discussion events that are organized annually with the objective to promote the exchange of knowledge and experiences between Latin America and Spain on issues of interest to the water sector.

In its previous edition, the event brought together experts from both sides of the Atlantic to discuss the challenges that governments currently face in order to achieve a high-level political agreement that contributes to guaranteeing water security. In this fourth edition, the objective is to reinforce the value of innovation as an essential tool for efficient water management, and to debate on the new advances that are being developed in this area.

This meeting is part of a long-term strategic collaboration platform formed by CAF, the Development Bank of Latin America and the Kingdom of Spain, through the Ministries for Ecological Transition (MITECO), Economy and Business (MINECO) and Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation (MAEUEC).

Patricia Mejías Moreno, Water Resources Officer of the Land and Water Division of FAO's Strategic Programme for Poverty Reduction is participating in the panel discussion that takes place at 12:40 pm in the House of America.
