Mr Nasar Hayat, FAO Representative to Lao PDR presented his credentials to H.E Mr. Sengphet HoungbounGnuang, Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lao PDR today (12 December 2018). The Deputy Minister thanked the Director General of FAO for FAO’s assistance to the country. He also applauded the work done by FAO and expressed his desire to increase the cooperation. He also desired to work together to seek increased funding for FAO’s work in Lao PDR. He specially appreciated FAO for quick response to 2018 Floods that affected Lao PDR. The newly appointed FAO Representative assured FAO’s commitment to the development objectives of Lao PDR especially as defined in the 8th National Socio-Economic Development Plan.
