The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Laos received the certificate of appreciation for outstanding contribution and partnership during the celebration of  20^th Anniversary of National Agriculture and Forestry Research Institute (NAFRI).

The grand opening of the agricultural product exhibition as well as the agriculture and forestry learning garden officially started off with the ribbon cutting by guest of honour Mr. Somdee Duandee, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance. Other distinguished guests on the occasion included Prof Dr.Borsengkham Vongdara  Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Phouang Parisak Pravongviengkham and Mr Thongphat Vongmany Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry,  Mr. Bounmy Manivong Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce, Mr Nasar Hayat, FAO Representative to Lao PDR, and around 300 participants from different sectors.  

More than 80 exhibition “booths” provided visitors with interesting information and knowledge on sustainable agriculture practices, livestock farming, handicraft production and other interesting activities.

FAO also exhibited its knowledge products at a booth in the exhibition.
