The Development Law Service participates in the 7th edition of the World One Health Congress

The 7th edition of the World One Health Congress was attended by an FAO delegation which included the Development Law Service, LEGN. LEGN was invited to deliver a presentation of the One Health Legislative Assessment Tool for AMR (OHLAT-AMR). The presentation explained how the OHLAT-AMR promotes a truly One Health approach to AMR governance and management, by incorporating not only a One Health approach to multi-sectoral AMR governance, but also promoting the incorporation of One Health interventions in the individual areas that are relevant for AMR (human, animal and plant health, food safety and environmental legislation). The LEGN presentation was one of the very few presentations on legal aspects of AMR at the Congress, together with presentations on regulatory frameworks in some countries, on the Pandemics Treaty, on the revision of the International Health Regulations (IHRs) and on One Health global governance., highlighting the need for more legal work on One Health.
