The situation continued to be calm in August in all CCA countries with life cycles of the three main locust pests almost completed. Areas treated in August amounted less than 6,000 ha, which represents one tenth of the area treated in July. For the first time this year, control operations were carried out in Armenia. DMA laid eggs and was disappearing. CIT was about to fledge in Armenia and was laying eggs elsewhere. LMI completed its hopper development in Uzbekistan and started laying eggs in Kazakhstan. So far during this campaign, a bit more than 3 million hectares have been treated.
