DescriptionSigned a memorandum of understanding, under which the Chinese state trading enterprise, China National Cereals, Oils, and Foodstuffs Corporation (COFCO), would import 100 000 tonnes of rice originated in Myanmar, through maritime channels. The deal follows news of China's assent to quadrupling the annual quota of official Chinese purchases of rice originated in Myanmar to 400 000 tonnes.
