DescriptionFrom August 2019 to September 2019: Informed of plans by a number of member states to ban the sale of glyphosate-based pesticides in their territories based on human health concerns. At the EU level, the herbicides authorization is set to expire in December 2022. Unless the European Commission extends the authorization of glyphosate at EU level, or grants import tolerance for the herbicide to third countries, impending national bans have the potential to affect exports of agricultural products to the EU.
