NotesGERMANY – pesticide regulation (glyphosate): German’s federal consumer protection and food safety authority decided to extend the approval of glyphosate-containing herbicides by one year, until mid-December 2020, while confirming its plan to outlaw the chemical on 31 December 2023. By end-2023, the Government envisages a reduction in the herbicide’s use by about 75 percent (see also MPPU Sep.’19).
