DescriptionUnder the USA-Japan Trade Agreement that entered into force on 1 January 2020, US exports of oils and fats to Japan became eligible for preferential tariff access. Depending on the type of oil/fat, imports are either duty-free or subject to preferential tariff rates set to be phased out over a period of three years.
