DescriptionReinstated maize subsidies in order to protect citizens from rising food prices. A 10 kg bag of maize meal would now cost ZWL 50 (USD 200 per tonne). The Government will fund the procurement of grain at market prices and sell it to registered maize millers to ensure availability and affordability of the commodity.
