NotesCHINA – import diversification (Myanmar): In line with previous efforts to diversify the country’s import sources for feed ingredients, in July, China’s General Administration of Customs initiated talks with the Agriculture Ministry of Myanmar about import procedures and food safety requirements for selected commodities, including soybeans, the media reported. While soybean cultivation can be found in Myanmar’s Shan State, which borders China, limited access to quality seed, advanced pest management techniques and modern marketing tools are said to hamper the crop’s expansion.
