DescriptionProlonged until 31 December 2021 the State aid Temporary Framework adopted in March 2020 to support the economy in the context of the coronavirus outbreak. The European Commission also decided to expand the scope of the Temporary Framework by increasing the ceilings for specific support measures and allowing the conversion of some repayable instruments into direct grants until the end of 2022. This way, member states can use the flexibility of state aid rules to support their economies, while limiting distortions to competition.
