DescriptionAnnounced its intention to repeal the three agricultural reform laws passed in September 2020, which had been met with prolonged protests by farmers, namely the Farmers' Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020, the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020, and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020. It aimed to complete the repeal process during the Parliamentary session scheduled to begin in November 2021. In addition, it would constitute a multi-stakeholder committee to decide on aspects related to the promotion of zero-budget farming, adjustments in cropping patterns and rendering minimum support prices more effective and transparent.
