DescriptionDecided to lower the price of a set of necessities. In the case of non-aromatic broken rice, retail prices would pass from XOF 15 000 for a 50 kg bag (USD 0.48 per kg) to XOF 13 750 (USD 0.44). Unconfirmed reports suggest that the move was accompanied by a reduction in customs duties and charges levied on imported non-aromatic brokens from a total of 12.7 percent to 2.7 percent.
