DescriptionDecided that, under the 2022 Maha procurement drive, the Paddy Marketing Board would purchase supplies at competitive prices. In addition, in the event of reductions in Maha output, a compensation of LKR 25 per kg (USD 69 per tonne) would be provided to paddy farmers to help sustain their income levels. The procurement drive would require an LKR 29.805 billion (USD 82.3 million) allocation to be secured though state banks.
