DescriptionApproved an allocation of EUR 1.47 billion (USD 1.61 billion), under European Union (EU) state aid rules, to Dutch schemes that compensate livestock farmers in a bid to reduce nitrogen pollution in the overburdened Natura 2000 areas, as defined in national legislation. The measure will be effective until 27 February 2028. They aim to improve environmental conditions and to promote sustainable and environmentally-friendly production in the livestock sector.
