DescriptionStipulated that rice imported from any origin must be shipped-out within 30 days of the date of issuance of its Sanitary and Phytosanitary Import Clearance (SPSIC), as opposed to previous rules that mandated that they arrive in the Philippines 60 days from the SPSIC issuance if the rice originating in ASEAN countries, or in 90 days of SPSIC issuance if the rice originated in Myanmar or other countries. In addition, it instructed importers to fully utilize SPSICs, declaring that low or no usage of SPSICs would result in sanctions and penalties. The decision took immediate effect.
