DescriptionNew Food Security Bill submitted to the parliament. It will create legal entitlement to subsidized food grains for 63.5 percent of the population, with an annual cost of about INR 1 trillion (USD 20 billion). Additional USD 70 million will be allocated to boost agricultural production and to improve storage and transportation infrastructure.
