DescriptionApproved an additional allocation of 6.0 million tonnes of subsidized grains for distribution to above poverty line (APL) families under the public welfare scheme. Poorest districts in 12 states will also be extended an extra grain allocation of 1.54 million tonnes, while states and Union territories will be permitted to lift and distribute six-month\'s worth of grain quotas at once.
