DescriptionAnnounced that it planned to allocate Rupiah 100 trillion (USD 8.0 billion) worth of 2015 state funds, released from the reduction of fuel subsidies, following a 31-36 percent increase in fuel prices, to the development of infrastructure in the agricultural sector and other productive sectors. Under the plan, which is part of state efforts to attain rice self-sufficiency by 2017, 3.0 million hectares of irrigation facilities would be repaired in three years’ time. Further interventions include the rehabilitation of other water management infrastructure, as well as the distribution of seeds, fertilizers and agricultural machinery.
