DescriptionDecided to extend a Pesos 200 (USD 15) per tonne direct assistance to rice farmers in order to aid them face marketing difficulties arising from declines in international rice quotations and growing competition with imports. The scheme will cover 64 000 tonnes of rice produced across eight states during the 2013-14 autumn-winter and 2014 spring-summer (irrigated) campaigns.
