DescriptionTemporarily allowed, in Iowa State, circulation of overweight truckloads of certain products (including soybeans), in an effort to reduce pressure on the state’s over-burdened river freight system.
NotesReportedly, Iowa state, the country’s leading producer of biodiesel, is planning to introduce a biodiesel producer incentive to remain competitive with surrounding states and to shelter the state’s industry from the impact of uncertainty over the federal renewable fuel standard and other federal measures. Under the new legislation, the first 25 million gallons (84 000 metric tonnes) of biodiesel produced in any single plant would be eligible for a 2-cent-per-gallon refundable tax credit. Reportedly, policies in place in other states include an exemption from sales tax in Illinois, a production incentive in Missouri, and a B5 mandatory blending requirement in Minnesota.
