DescriptionDecided to import 750 000 tonnes of rice, on a government-to-government basis, through a tender held on 17 September 2015. The import drive is meant to mitigate potential supply shortages arising from ongoing El Niño conditions. Of the total import volume to be imported, 250 000 tonnes are to be delivered by the year\'s end, with remaining quantities to arrive by the end of the first quarter of 2016.
