DescriptionAnnounced that it had allocated LKR 6 billion (USD 42 million) to purchase 120 000 tonnes of paddy from the 2015 Yala harvest. Under the procurement programme, farmers will receive Rupees 50 per kilo of Samba paddy (USD 352 per tonne) and Rupees 45 per kilo (USD 317 per tonne) of Nadu paddy sold to the Paddy Marketing Board.
