DescriptionIssued orders clarifying that the maximum retail prices announced on 8 February 2017 would apply to imported rice. For local produce, price ceilings were set at LKR 90 per kilo (USD 597 per tonne) in the case of Samba (excluding Keeri Samba and Suduru Samba), LKR 80 per kilo (USD 530 per tonne) for Nadu rice and at LKR 78 per kilo (USD 517 per tonne) for Raw rice, effective 17 February 2017.
