DescriptionPut in place safeguard measures on selected classes of husked rice imports (SAC codes 100620000091 and 1006200099), originating in countries not party to a preferential trade agreement with Costa Rica. Effective from 6 September 2017 to 31 December 2017, an additional import tariff of 11.67 percent will be levied on these classes, since cumulative imports from 1 January 2017 surpassed a 3 805.2 tonne threshold that activates the measure. The surcharge will be applied on top of a 35 percent import duty accrued by these classes.
