NotesIndia’s National Federation of Agricultural Marketing Cooperatives (NAFED) – the agency responsible for the procurement of agricultural commodities under the country’s federal Price Support Scheme (PSS) – is preparing the launch of an electronic platform for countrywide procurement of oilseeds and pulses. By managing farm-gate purchases, storage and disposal operations through an efficient, transparent and competitive e-platform, NAFED expects to help growers obtain more remunerative prices, while also containing consumer prices.
