NotesThe Government of the Philippines has allocated PHP 1.4 billion (USD 27.2 million) to the country’s Coconut Authority for the year 2018, matching the current year’s level. According to the agency, the bulk of the resources will be used for replanting coconut trees nationwide. Projects on fertilization, R&D and diversification into high-value coconut products will also be supported. With regard to plantings, the agency’s target is to support the planting of at least 10 million palms in 2017, 15 million palms in 2018, and 20 million palms yearly starting in 2019.
