NotesThe Government of Indonesia announced that a unified database integrating various land-use maps – including a map on oil palm plantations – will be completed later this year (see also MPPU Aug.’16). The new tool could be crucial in the management of Indonesia’s forests and natural resources. In particular, the integrated map could help identify overlapping land concessions and address the problem of illegal plantations inside forest areas.
