DescriptionReverted the duty on frozen beef imports from the United States from 50 percent to 38.5 percent, the normal rate applicable under the Japanese special safeguard system (SSG). Japan increased the tariff rate to 50 percent on 1 August 2017 after cumulative bovine meat imports from the United States exceeded the established trigger volumes for the 2017 Japanese fiscal year.
