NotesComplementing efforts to raise domestic demand for palm oil (notably for biodiesel production), the Indonesian Government is supporting initiatives to establish palm oil processing facilities overseas. According to the media, joint ventures to set up refineries – that would source crude palm oil primarily from Indonesia – in Pakistan (for food-grade oil production) and in the United States and Europe (for aviation fuel production) have been promoted.
