DescriptionAnnounced that it would raise the area limit on rice cultivation from 824 000 feddans (346 00 ha) in 2018 to 1.07 million feddans (452 000 ha) in 2019, in an effort to lower the country's import bill and stabilize local quotations. The additional area would be cultivated with water-conserving and salt-tolerant varieties.
