DescriptionThe Government announced an aid package of AUD 100 million (USD 68.1 million) for farmers and communities affected by severe drought in 2019. The assistance also includes payments for water infrastructure upgrades and related projects, as well as measures to simplify and extend the government’s Farm Household Allowance programme. Furthermore, the Government committed to soften aid eligibility requirements so as to allow more farmers to benefit from the various assistance programmes.
