NotesAccording to media reports, the Government of Tamil Nadu has begun procurement of 50 000 tonnes of copra from farmers under the national Price Support Scheme. For 2019, the procurement prices for milling copra and ball copra have been set at, respectively, INR 95 210 and INR 99 200 per tonne (USD 1 343 and 1 399) – up 27 percent from last season’s level. The enhanced rates are expected to help stabilize copra prices in the market.
