DescriptionSigned the US-Japan Trade Agreement and US-Japan Digital Trade Agreement. The agreements provided for a duty-free country-specific tariff quota of 150 000 for US wheat imports over a 9-year period. The minimum selling price ranges between JPY 8.5 and 9.4 per kg – between USD 78.3 and USD 86.6 per tonne (reduced by 45 percent for two categories of wheat products). Similarly, it provided for a country-specific tariff rate quota of 3 250 for US maize starch imports over a 6-year period.
