NotesEUROPEAN UNION pesticide regulation: The European Commission decided not to renew the approval of thiacloprid a pesticide belonging to the neonicotinoids group and used predominantly in rapeseed cultivation due to identified insect and human health risks. The chemicals approval is set to expire on 30 April 2020. The decision follows the prohibition of three other neonicotinoid-based insecticides in all outdoor-uses in April 2018.
