DescriptionSuspended several licences to import refined palm oil, in a bid to protect the domestic refining industry from surging imports of the commodity. The licences concerned imports from neighbouring countries such as Nepal and Bangladesh, which do not produce palm oil but enjoy duty-free access to India based on the South Asian Free Trade Agreement.
