NotesTHAILAND – import policy: Reportedly, the Government of Thailand plans to implement a set of measures aimed at halting illegal imports of palm oil for use as biodiesel feedstock. Smuggling is reckoned to strongly affect domestic prices. Planned measures include i) the use of advanced scientific and statistical tools to determine the origin of palm oil stocked across the country, and ii) the installation of gauges on storage tanks of biodiesel manufacturers.
