DescriptionDecided that a maximum of 400 000 tonnes of rice (HS code 1006) would be permitted to be exported in April 2020, while a rice export plan for the month of May 2020 would be decided based on official proposals to be submitted by 25 April 2020. The decision became effective 11 April 2020, following recommendations of an inter-ministerial committee set out to review whether sufficient rice supplies existed in the country to meet domestic consumption in the context of the Covid-19 outbreak.
