DescriptionSuspended imports of bovine meat from Ireland, on a temporary basis, following the confirmation of a case of ‘atypical’ bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) in a 14-year-old cow. Under the existing protocols, detection of an atypical case does not affect the country’s risk status or the progress towards negligible risk status.
