NotesMEXICO – pesticide regulation (glyphosate): In August, the President of Mexico announced that the use of glyphosate – a herbicide widely used in soybean cultivation – would be gradually phased out by late 2024 due to safety concerns. Reportedly, the Federal Ministries of Environment and Agriculture and Rural Development are working jointly to establish a schedule for the chemical’s gradual withdrawal. The herbicide’s use will be prohibited within government agencies and projects with immediate effect.
