Worried about the impact of persistently high soyoil and biodiesel prices on the country’s inflation rate, authorized fresh cuts in the blending rate – from 13 percent to 10 percent – during the period May–August 2021.
NotesBRAZIL – biodiesel policy (blending rate): Following a number of earlier brief reductions in the country’s mandatory biodiesel blending rate, on 7 October, Brazil’s regulatory agency for petroleum, biofuel and gas (ANP) approved a cut in the blending rate from 12 percent to 11 percent from 1 November through December 2020, citing continued concerns about possible shortfalls in biodiesel supplies stemming from reduced domestic soybean availabilities.
