DescriptionParliament approved a partial ban on glyphosate. Under the new law, private uses of the herbicide and its application on so-called ‘sensitive’ areas would be banned, while professional use, including most applications in agriculture, would continue to be allowed.

NotesAUSTRIA – Pesticide regulation – glyphosate: In May, the Austrian Parliament approved a partial ban on glyphosate (see also MPPU Apr.’21). While the new law bans private uses of the herbicide and its application on so-called ‘sensitive’ areas, professional use including most applications in agriculture will continue to be allowed. An earlier adopted ban on pre-harvest treatments remains in place.
