NotesSRI LANKA – agricultural policies – oil palm cultivation: While maintaining its ban on the establishment of new oil palm plantations and promoting the gradual replacement of existing plantations with alternative crops, the Government eased its recently introduced import restrictions for palm oil, providing local industries with special import licenses for refined, bleached and deodorized (RBD) palm olein (see also MPPU Apr.’21).
