DescriptionRenewed duty remission on rice for an additional year. Accordingly, imports of paddy, husked, semi/wholly milled rice and broken rice will continue to accrue a 35 percent import tariff (or USD 200 per tonne, whichever is higher), instead of the 75 percent tariff (or USD 345 per tonne) that they would accrue under the Common External Tariff of the East African Community, until 30 June 2022.
