DescriptionApproved a plan whereby it would establish five modern mills in the Kurunegala, Anuradhapura, Batticaloa, Hambantota and Ampara districts, under public-cooperative partnerships. The mills would assist in containing increases in local rice prices by facilitating purchases from the 2022 Maha harvest, to be distributed through the Lanka Sathosa and Cooperative Societies.
