DescriptionExtended duty remissions on rice for an additional year. As such, the import duty on paddy, husked, semi/wholly milled rice and broken rice will remain at 35 percent (or USD 200 per tonne, whichever is higher) until 30 June 2023, instead of the 75 percent tariff (or USD 345 per tonne) that they would accrue under the Common External Tariff of the East African Community.
